NFL Hotties Vol 2 – 2010

These two certainly look a lot better than their football team.

Did you really think we weren’t going to show a pic of the Jets hottie Jenn Sterger?

I am feeling a bit…Patriotic right now.

Meeeeeeeow!  Get it? Bengal…cat.

Where do I sign up for VIP?

I am loving the new addition to the Bills.  Hey, let’s face it, she couldn’t do any worse than the losers they have out there now.

Redskins cheer team, always one of the hottest in the NFL.

Steelers are indeed looking “super” again.

Arrrrgh!  I want me some of that booty.

The Jets get a two-fer this week.  This Jet model is too f***ing hot to pass up.

NFL Draft Wrap Up – AFC North

1 – Baltimore Ravens (B)

Baltimore’s only mistake was not adding depth to their defensive backfield.  The Ravens managed to address the rest of their needs and take quality players with almost every pick.  They revamped their front seven by selecting DE Sergio Kindle, DT Terrance Cody and DT Art Jones.  Sergio and Art scared some with their injury histories but if healthy will play at a high level.  Terrance has a weight issue but if he can shed 10 to 15 pounds he can be that run stopper the Ravens are looking for.  They also took two excellent TEs in Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta.  Both are athletic pass catching TEs a la Todd Heap.  Todd is getting long in the tooth so these guys are the heir apparent.  WR David Reed should contribute on special teams.

2 – Cincinnati Bengals (A)

The Bengals draft was one of their best in years.  They have lacked a stud TE for many years and adding one was crucial to the development of their passing game.  They added the best on the board in Jermaine Gresham.  He is quite a big target and has soft hands.  Look for Palmer to go over the middle early and often to this big guy.  They also needed to add depth on the defensive line and came away with DE Carlos Dunlap and DT Geno Atkins.  Carlos has an issue with working in the off-season but when he is on he will chase the QB all day long.  Geno was a solid value pick.  He is an athletic DT and should compete for playing time.  CB Brandon Ghee was a great pick at the end of the 3rd Round.  He is a quick, athletic DB who should end up being the starting FS.  They also upgraded the receiving corps selecting WR Jordan Shipley and WR Dezmon Briscoe.  Shipley was another great pick.  He should provide Carson Palmer with that possession receiver he’s been lacking.  Dezmon had some personal issues but if those are resolved this big, physical kid should make the team and get some playing time in the red zone.  Finally, LB Rodrick Muckelroy slid down the chart to Cincy in the late 4th Round.  He won’t start on the LB rich team but he should contribute on special teams.

3 – Pittsburgh Steelers (B)

With all of the off-season issues the Steelers needed a solid draft and got one.  C Maurkice Pouncey was the first pick and should have been after the beating Ben took last season.  He should start immediately at either G or C.  DE Jason Worilds was probably picked a little higher than he should have but he is a superb pass rush specialist.  WR Emmanuel Sanders could replace the departed Holmes.  At least that is what Pittsburgh is hoping for.  He is very fast with big play ability but there may have been better WRs on the board at the time.  DE Thaddeus Gibson will add depth to the Pittsburgh front seven.  OT Chris Scott was a pretty good pick in the mid-rounds.  He is a very solid pass protector and that is what Pittsburgh needed.  A true steal for the Steelers was RB Jonathan Dwyer.  Many had projected him in the 2nd or 3rd Round.  He slipped into the 6th Round so he will come out and run with purpose.  He could take carries away from Mendenhall.

4 – Cleveland Browns (C+)

The Browns could have received a much higher grade and overall the draft was still pretty good.  Sometimes luck is better than talent and I think they got awfully lucky in this draft.  With a bunch of talented QBs on the board they take CB Joe Haden.  I like Joe but I had him going in the teens.  They could have traded down and still got him.  Joe is solid and will start for Cleveland.  With the 2nd Round pick I thought they would go for Clausen for sure but they opted for S T.J. Ward, another guy with a lower grade than where he was picked.  They needed a safety with his skill set but not at that pick.  Now I’ll give them props for moving up to nab RB Montarrio Hardesty.  They needed a runner and they got a good one.  He should compliment Harrison very well.  Finally at pick #85 they take QB Colt McCoy.  Lucky, lucky, lucky.  They played the odds that many teams weren’t in need an that one of the QBs they liked would be there.  Colt was and they got their QB of the future.  Colt should be a nice fit with that offense.  Finally, one pick I thought was excellent was WR Carlton Mitchell in the 6th Round.  I’m not sure why he slipped.  I had a 4th Round grade on him.  He has great size and ability.  He should get a chance to play in this offense.

AFC DRAFT REVIEW

NORTH
Baltimore – OT certainly wasn’t a top need for Baltimore but they get Michael Oher anyways. Oher can start on either side but will be a back up for now. I love the pick of DE Paul Kruger in the 2nd Round. He can play down or up as an OLB in their 3-4 scheme. He should contribute right away. CB Lardarius Webb was a reach in Round 3. He could contribute on special teams and maybe some defensive packages. ILB Jason Phillips falls to the 5th Round and Baltimore’s LB corps gets stronger. RB Cedric Peerman is of great value with the last pick. He gives them a legitimate pass catcher out of the backfield. TE Drew might make the team as a back up and special teamer.
The Ravens failed to land a S and their #1 need, WR. FINAL GRADE C+

Pittsburgh – Can we say the rich get richer? DT Ziggy Hood is a very talented interior lineman. I had him going several picks before this but teams passed him up for some reason. OL Kraig Urbik is a very solid offensive lineman from Wisconsin. He can play either guard position or right tackle. Pittsburgh adds depth. WR Mike Wallace replaces WR Nate Washington. CBs Lewis and Burnett should add depth to Pittsburgh’s defensive backfield but I don’t project either guy as a starter. C A.Q. Shipley in the 7th Round is a steal. Most scouts had the Penn State C as a 5th Round value. DT Harris and TE Johnson will struggle to make the team. Pittsburgh addressed all of their need areas. FINAL GRADE B+

Cincinnati – The Bengals had a lot of picks and did some pretty good things with them. The first one was used on OL Andre Smith. Now I moved him way down my board for weight and attitude reasons but Cincy pick him #6 overall. The way I look at this pick is if they put him at G or RT I think it will work out well. If they project him as a LT I think they will be very disappointed. ILB Rey Maualuga with Keith Rivers sounds awesome on paper. However Rey isn’t very bright for a MLB and his only strength is up in the box. It depends on the scheme but this is a boom or bust pick. DE Michael Johnson was a great pick. He is a talented pass rusher and should contribute right away. TE Chase Coffman was also one of the steals of the draft. He should contribute immediately. C Jon Luigs, P Kevin Huber and RB Fui Vakapuna were all solid picks were they were taken and should contribute. RB Bernard Scott and DE Clinton McDonald were reaches and failed to draft a safety. FINAL GRADE B-

Cleveland – The Browns hit a homerun early with the picks of C Alex Mack and WR Brian Robiskie. Mack should anchor that line for a long time and Robiskie will be the go to receiver if Edwards is traded. WR Massaquoi is a big, physical threat and could start opposite Robiskie. DE David Veikune will start at LB in Cleveland’s 3-4. He is a quick penetrator who will see significant playing time. LB Maiva from USC was a great value. He is smart and should start soon. CB Cary and Francies are also great values where they were picked. They should contribute. 6th Round pick RB James Davis could be a nice surprise. He should produce behind RB Jamal Lewis. Cleveland did fail to land a S and TE. FINAL GRADE B

SOUTH
Jacksonville – The Jags needed help on the line and they got OT Eugene Monroe. He may be the best of this class and start on the Jags left side for the next 10 years. Props to the Jags for going offensive line two picks in a row nabbing OT Eben Britton. He will eventually start on the right side. DT Knighton was taken a little high but will provide some serious beef in the middle of the Jacksonville defensive line. Round 3 selection of William & Marry CB Derek Cox is a bit of a stretch. They could have had him at a much better value in Round 5. WR Mike Thomas should contribute immediately in the slot for Jacksonville even though they needed a bigger playmaker on the outside. WR Dillard from Rice might make the team as a 4th option. He has great hands. Liberty RB Rashad Jennings is a steal in Round 7. Most had him a 4th or 5th Round pick. He is a huge back that should compliment Jones-Drew very well. They failed to draft an OLB, a QB or a big-play WR. FINAL GRADE C+

Indianapolis – DT Ziggy Hood, WR Hakeem Nicks, WR Brian Robiskie, LB Rey Maualuga, LB James Laurinaitis and OT Eben Britton are still on the board and you reach with U Conn RB Donald Brown. I’m not saying Brown will be bad but they had other significant holes and better options. Addai and Hart are injury prone so if they do go down this pick suddenly makes a lot of sense. DT Fili Moala was taken in the 2nd Round and should start although he isn’t an impact player. CB Powers was a bit of a reach in Round 3. He has decent skills and should play some nickel and special teams. WR Austin Collie was a good pick in Round 4. He was a very productive WR and special teamer. DT Terrance Taylor was an OK pick. He is a short run stopper. He won’t help much in pass defense. QB Curtis Painter in Round 6 was a great pick. Purdue QBs do pretty well in the NFL. He may have a future as Peyton’s understudy for the next few years. P Pat McAfee will probably make the team after Hunter’s departure. They failed to land a LB in the draft. FINAL GRADE C

Houston – The Texans needed a stud LB and they got one. LB Brian Cushing will be the face of the defense for years to come. I love the pick of DE Connor Barwin in Round 2. Add Barwin to Okoye and Williams and you are talking an awesome defensive line. G Antoine Caldwell will provide O-Line depth. TE James Casey was a great value pick in Round 5. He is a great, pass catching TE. They also grabbed two decent CB prospects in Quin and McCain. They failed to pick a WR or RB in the draft. FINAL GRADE C+

Tennessee – They had a lot of picks and did pretty well. WR Kenny Britt could end up being the best WR of this draft. DT Sen’Derrick Marks is no Haynesworth but he should do well. TE Jared Cook will help stretch the middle of the field. Good pick. CB Ryan Mouton, LB Gerald McGrath and OT Troy Kropog were great picks where they were picked. They should make the team and contribute. Grabbing RB Javon Ringer near the end of Round 5 was a no-brainer. He now gives Tennessee a triple-threat backfield. The last 4 players taken will struggle to make this already deep team. The only thing Titans failed to do was draft a young QB. FINAL GRADE B+

EAST
Miami – The Dolphins picked up defensive backs in the off-season and continued to do so in the draft adding stud Illinois CB Vontae Davis and Utah CB Sean Smith. Davis should start right away and Smith should eventually start. QB Pat White is a great pick. He wants to play QB and Miami’s “Wildcat” offense allows him too. That should be very fun to watch. Mid-Round WR picks of Brian Hartline and Patrick Turner were brilliant. They add depth to a group that had none. Turner could end up being a #2 opposite Ted Ginn. Round 6 selection of OT Andrew Gardner was a good value pick. He should be able to hold down a back spot on the team. They did fail to address their needs on the defensive line. FINAL GRADE B

New England – The Patriots do very well with their box full of picks. SS Pat Chung and DT Ron Brace should both start immediately. They are both impact players. CB Darius Butler won’t start this year but he will shadow their vets for a year or two and then have a very long, successful career. OT Vollmer from Houston at the end of Round 2 is a reach. There were plenty of excellent OTs left. WR Brandon Tate had some issues recently but if healthy will be a significant contributor in the Patriot’s offense and special teams. OLB McKenzie from South Florida is a great value pick. He too will shadow the veteran linebackers for now and contribute on special teams. G Rich Ohrnberger was a good pick for New England. He adds depth to the interior offensive line. QB Julian Edelman from Kent State wasn’t on anyone’s board but they took him to run the New England version of the “Wildcat”. He will compete with free agent acquisition Brian Hoyer for the 3rd spot on the team. With 12 picks in the draft and a desperate need at RB the Patriots don’t draft one. Perhaps they have their eye on soon to be FA Edgerrin James. FINAL GRADE B

New York – Very good but very bad. The Jets had the balls to move up and take QB Mark Sanchez from USC. The problem is he is one of those boom or bust picks. Is he Carson Palmer or Matt Leinhart? He certainly has Palmer potential. The jury is out. Jets get great value nabbing RB Shonn Greene in Round 3. Thomas Jones is getting old and Shonn is the heir apparent. G Slaussen from Nebraska should make the team and add depth to the offensive line. They needed to address WR, D-Line and TE in the draft and didn’t. Perhaps they will in free agency. FINAL GRADE C

Buffalo – The Bills had a very nice draft. They reached a little on the first pick but they did get a versatile pass rusher in Aaron Maybin. He will start immediately. Wood and Levitre will add much needed depth to the interior offensive line. CB Jarius Byrd is vastly underrated and could start in his first season. Southern Miss TE Shawn Nelson will also start and stretch the field. Round 5 pick Nic Harris is a great pick. He plays S, LB and is a special teams contributor. CB Cary Harris is also a great pick for Buffalo in Round 6. They did fail to draft a much needed RB and WR. FINAL GRADE B+

WEST
Denver – You take RB Moreno with the first pick after signing RBs Buckhalter, Jordan and Arrington in the off-season? With all the defensive holes I’m not sure I agree with that. DE Ayers with the second pick was solid and he should contribute immediately. 2nd Round picks of CBs Smith and McBath were solid. I don’t see either one starting but they will both contribute and add depth. S David Bruton in Round 4 was a good idea. In Round 6 they add QB Tom Brandstater who is the perfect QB for their system. He’ll play behind Orton and Simms in 2009. The rest of the picks were offensive line depth and WR McKinney who might not make the squad. They needed help on the defensive side of the ball, particularly on the front 7 and only came away with a defensive end. FINAL GRADE C-

Oakland – WR Heyward-Bey #7 overall! Are you kidding me? They could have moved down 10 to 15 spots and still got him. No other team had him in the top 20. Not too mention the two best receivers, Maclin and Crabtree were still on the board. I don’t even think he was 3rd best. I like WRs Hakeem Nicks and Percy Harvin more than Bey. Then in Round 2 they pick little known SS Mike Mitchell from Ohio. Mel Kiper was kind in saying he “flew” up some draft boards late but c’mon. This guy wasn’t even invited to the combine and wasn’t on most team’s board. This guy in Round 2 is a joke. DE Matt Shaunessy in Round 3 is a bit of a reach. He is a developmental player. The best pick was probably WR Louis Murphy in Round 4. I thought he had 2nd Round talent. DEs Norris and Sulak are speed all the way and look like situational rushers and special teamers. TE Brandon Myers with the last pick is a reserve, run-blocking tight end. They also failed to land a LB, O-Linemen and CB. FINAL GRADE D-

San Diego – The pick of DE Larry English means they were stupid for passing up ILBs Maualuga and Laurinaitis or they are not confident of Merriman’s return. They drafted some much needed beef in G Vasquez, G Tyronne Green and DT Vaughn Martin. Vasquez and Green add much needed depth and one will probably replace Goff. DT Martin is a longshot. He is a Canadian player drafted based on an impressive workout day and intangibles. CB Brandon Hughes should be the nickel back and S Kevin Ellison of USC was a steal late in the draft. He is a smart, hard-nosed player who should contribute. The last pick of WR Demetrius Byrd could pay off a year or two down the road. If it weren’t for his untimely car accident he would have been selected in the 3rd or 4th Round. They did fail to secure a back up to Tomlinson. FINAL GRADE C+

Kansas City – DE Tyson Jackson is not the 3rd best player in the country. I thought LB Aaron Curry was a no-brainer here. Despite where Jackson was picked he should be a decent player and immediate contributor. DT Alex Magee in Round 3 is OK. I am not sure he is a starter in the NFL though. CB Donald Washington might make the team as a nickel back. G Colin Brown of Missouri adds depth and can play OT too. WR Quinten Lawrence will probably be the 4th or 5th receiver. RB Tavarris Williams from Tennessee State should do well. K Ryan Succop should also make the team. They failed to land a LB or S. FINAL GRADE C

Hot College Hotties – Halloween Edition

Hello BPD fans!  We have been posting pics over the past couple of weeks of the hottest college football fans in the country.  This week I am doing it will a little twist.  This time of year is one of my favorite.  I love fall at the end of October.  The leaves are changing, World Series baseball and lots and lots of college football.  The end of October also means Halloween which means lots of college girls dressing up (or down in most cases).  Enjoy the collection!

Any girl that picks a skimpy domanatrix costume gets a gold star from me.  The ball gag is a nice touch…LOL.

I think this might be Adrianne Curry (the chick from My Fair Brady).  Either way the Clockwork Orange costume has never, ever looked hotter.  Meeeeeeow!  Oh, and just for the record, if my wife wanted to bring another beautiful woman into the bedroom the answer would always be “YES!”  Just a little life lesson for you Peter Brady.

There is just so much to love here I don’t even know where to start.

I need to start by saying the Boba Fet costume kicks ass.  But, more importantly I think I can speak for any man ages 21 to 50 and say I love, love, love the Princess Leia Return of the Jedi look.  You can just tell she’s naughty too.  I think Boba’s getting some tonight.  LOL

There’s something strange…sneakin in my bed, who ya gonna call?   HER

I am not really sure what the hell she is supposed to be.  To be honest my eyes never made it up from her chest.

Yes, I will tie everything into sports somehow.  She looks very hot in this Bengals get up.  Does she know how bad they suck though?  Probably not but I am certain she sucks well.  😉

Let’s see…nurse, naughty German girl, prisoner and flight attendant.  CHECK!  The gangs all here let the bang begin.

Once again, props for the sports themed costume and MAJOR props for the body paint.  I highly encourage girls to don the body paint this year.  Body paint is in girls!  On, but the FLYERS.  Really…the Flyers?

ENOUGH SAID!  Happy Halloween to the BPD Rag and sports fans all across the world.  Get drunk, get laid but be safe.  I’ll be posting again some time next week.  I will be on a road trip to Lawrence, KS for the KU v. K.State game and then the Chiefs v. Bucs on Sunday.  Have a great weekend!

NFC and AFC North PREVIEW

NFC NORTH – Minnesota should lead this out of the gate and take it wire to wire.  The only chance of them getting pressed during the season will be if Chicago’s defense and special teams win games for them like they did in 2006 or if Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers has a Favre like season.

1. Minnesota Vikings 11-5

Minnesota is ready for a break out season.  Tavaris Jackson should move to the next level and be a very solid QB in the NFL.  He isn’t TOP 10 but he is in that next tier.  AP is the best back in the NFL and Chester Taylor is his partner in crime.  This is probably the best running back duo in the NFL today.  The acquisition of speedy wide out Bernard Berrian should take some pressure off of the running duo.   The defense should also be greatly improved with the addition of DE Jared Allen,  LB Derrick Pope and draft pick FS Tyrell Johnson.  They will make the playoffs but will be eliminated before the big game in Tampa.

2. Chicago Bears 9-7

The Chicago Bears are far from their Superbowl run of 2006 but they do have the defense and special teams to challenge for a wildcard.  The defense should be much improved from last season.  Everyone is paid and healthy.  S Mike Brown is the key to the defenses success.  He is the brains of the operation.  The defensive line is one of the best and deepest in the NFL.  If they are healthy they are TOP 5 in the NFL.  The offense is a bit more troubling.  If they can manage any sort of offense this season they can challenge Minnesota.  However, they are depening on rookie RB Matt Forte and the oft injured Kevin Jones.  They are also having a QB competition between head case Rex Grossman and under achiever Kyle Orton.  The bright side on the offense are tight ends Olsen and Clark.  They should appear on the field together in many double tight sets.  Last but not least is difference make Devin Hester.  Teams are threatening not to kick the ball to him so the Bears are using him on offense.  Can he be a difference maker on offense?

3. Green Bay Packers 7-9

It is not because I am a Bears fan that I pick the Packers to be mediocre this season.  I do have a few reasons they will drop from the top of the NFC to the middle of the ‘pack’.  First off you are replacing a future HOF QB in Brett Favre with an unknown quantity in Aaron Rodgers.  Those transitions rarely go smoothly.  Sure a guy like Steve Young finally got his opportunity to replace Joe Montana but Aaron is no Steve Young.  He may be a decent QB some day but I look for him to struggle early.  Secondly the secondary is aging.  Woodson and Harris are into their 30s and younger, more atletic recievers just abuse them.  Finally they lost stud DT Corey Williams to Cleveland in the off-season and have replaced him with Johnny Jolly?  Green Bay’s star linebacking corp will feel the loss of Williams most.

4. Detroit Lions 5-11

Is it a surprise to us that this cute girl doesn’t even want to show her face?  The Lions are dismal.  I recorded their preseason game on my DVR and watched it last night.  WRs Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson are top notch.  Despite having a bad team I look for veteran QB Kitna to put up big numbers with Williams and Johnson.  They are supposed to be focusing on the run but an average offensive line and under-whelming backs Pinner, Bell along with draft pick Kevin Smith mean the Lions will not achieve much on the ground.  Not to mention they draft OT Gosder Cherilus in the 1st Round and all he did this weekend was get a few stupid penalties and found himself on the bench.  Defensively they haven’t changed too much.  The front seven are fair at best the secondary is poor.

AFC NORTH – This could be the best division in football.  Pittsburgh and Cleveland are excellent and they should be neck and neck the whole way.  Cincinnati and Baltimore are a step down from the top 2 teams but not by much.  Cincy needs to stay healthy on offense and Baltimore needs to develop a passing game under new coordinator Cam Cameron.

1. Cleveland Browns – 11-5

Cleveland finally breaks through.  They have a very good offensive line, two good QBs and a solid passing attack with WRs Braylon Edwards, Dante Stallworth, Joe Jurevicius and TE Kellen Winslow.  RB Jamal Lewis should easily have 1.400 yards on the ground this season but there isn’t much depth behind him.  An injury to Lewis makes this division winning team a team that will struggle to get to the playoffs.  The defense is better with the addition of DT Cory Williams.  The defensive backfield remains a little thin but the talent of the front seven should make them better.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers 11-5

The Steelers are a very competitive team.  They aren’t outstanding at one particular aspect of their game but they are solid all-around and are going to be one of those teams you don’t want to see in the playoffs.  They had three weakness entering the off season and they addressed two of them.  The first was lack of depth behind Willie Parker so they drafted Rashard Mendenhall.  These two will now form quite a formidable RB duo.  The other weakness was at WR.  QB Big Ben wanted some size to go along with All-Pro Hines Ward.  The Steelers drafted 6’4″ Limas Sweed from Texas.  He is a very similar type of player to Plaxico Burress and should take some pressure off of Big Ben and Hines Ward.  Finally, they failed to address the defensive backfield but it appears a lot of teams failed to address this area of need.  They will give up the occasional long ball but the front seven are stacked, led by DE Aaron Smith and LB James Farrior.

3. Cincinnati Bengals 8-8

Sorry to disappoint this outstanding Bengals fan but it looks like another season of mediocrity for the guys from the Queen City.  We know what QB Carson Palmer, WR Chad Johnson and WR T.J. Houshmanzadeh are capable of.  They are very talented.  However the Bengals need more consistency and health out of their RBs Rudi Johnson, Chris Perry and Kenny Watson.  This is a deep group but one of them needs to break out and have a big year for Cincinnati to challenge for a wildcard birth.  On defense they had their struggles last year but they have added to defensive studs via draft in LB Keith Rivers and DT Pat Sims.  Both of them should be immediate contributors.  The defense will get better but they are young and inexperienced.

4. Baltimore Ravens 7-9

The Baltimore Ravens are in the middle of a rebuilding campaign.  QB Joe Flacco is the future but it looks if another young QB, Troy Smith is about to take the reigns.  He will have some help with veteran WRs Mark Clayton, Derrick Mason and TE Todd Heap.  The offense is led by another young stud in RB Willis McGahee.  McGahee is due for a breakout season but might need help as the offensive line is getting re-tooled a bit.  The offense could improve as the season progresses.  The defense was getting a bit long in the tooth so the Ravens started addressing that in the draft with the picks of S Tom Zbikowski and LB Tavares Gooden.  Both should get significant playing time.  LB Ray Lewis is still the ultimate linebacker but the way Baltimore has struggled the past couple of seasons have taken its toll.  The defensive line is the biggest weakness for Baltimore.  Teams should be able to run pretty well against Baltimore.
